Panama Canal

Packed into the Miraflores Locks 2 ferries, 3 sailboats, and a container ship.

Good view of the control shack and the locomotives that guide the big ships through the locks.

One of the gates at Miraflores. Note the big fucking dent on the right side door. When you think about the force it took to do that, it musta been something big. Each of the gates weighs 750 tons.

The Bridge of the Americas in the distance as we leave Miraflores. We are now in the Pacific Ocean.

The gleaming skyline of Panama City on the Pacific coast. Our last stop before taking the bus back to the Queen.

Click pics to embiggen.

And the coolest thing is that the trip overland from Atlantic to Pacific takes an hour and a half.

We bid farewell to Panama to 6 last evening. We're at sea today and will be in Curacao tomorrow.
